Mr.Arbitrage: I've got a flash for you: Gm is still making big money on vehicles sales because of two pretty basic facts:
1. Interest rates are so low, Zero % financing doesn't quite mean the same thing that it did in 1981!
2. The gross profit more than covers the real interest cost. Isn't that rather obvious since GM is still making substancial profit?

On the other hand, I'm glad you're "short" because that helps make the market the fun that it is! crpurdum
