Muscles feel good and no cramping

Well muscles and, to a certain extent, bone tend to heal and respond to adaptive stimuli reasonably quickly.....even at my age. Ligaments and tendons are a different story and these are often the rate limiter to training gains.....and, more to the point, break down with too much, too soon.

I'm doing this slow and steady still at over 4 months post surgery because my new foot is so different from before that I'm having to focus on the biomechanics of the new gait. That's what I do on the treadmill while the weather's still bad....hoping that it'll be second nature when I start to ramp it up a bit.
