My company is offering a stock purchase plan, where we can have between 1-6% of our pay invested in Stock. The stock is purchased at the end of the year, with the purchase price being the lower of the prices at the beginning or end of the period.

It sounds like you are getting the stock at a discount, so I would invest in it. It's like getting free money. That's only my opinion though, I'm sure others will disagree.
