I was lucky: I stumbled on that Web site by chance just a few days before the April 17th, 2000 deadline. If I didn't file as a trader, I would have to list about a thousand trades on Schedule D, keeping track of the wash sale rule because I traded the same security most of the time. But now I don't have to file Schedule D at all!
