INTRO Here's my semi-annual exercise to see if I remember why I own the stocks I own, and so I can check back and see if their stories have changed. I include the economy and markets to check my perception of the bigger picture. I post in case it helps others too.

Economy & Markets
The recovery continues!; at least for one segment of the corporate world and high-net worth individuals. The bulk of the population is struggling with some combination of affordable housing, high health-care costs, jobs turning into gigs that don’t include benefits, insufficient savings, and read the headlines for more. The government continues to increase debt, lower taxes, and stumble through partisanship. For the minority, the situation is excellent with expectations that it will continue. For many, who probably represent the majority of the economy, the struggle seems unending. The rising tide is not raising all boats. While we celebrate short term records, I suspect the long term isn’t sustainable. Enough people are talking about a recession that, even without economic forces, a recession may become a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the meantime, if you’re enjoying the good times, enjoy. This recovery has already gone on longer than I expected. Are we mortgaging a future economy with short term policies, or have we entered a new era? I suspect the former.

(I've also collected links to the other discussion boards and my other stocks over on my blog http://trimbathcreative.net/2019/12/31/semi-annual-exercise-... )
