INTRO Here's my semi-annual exercise to see if I remember why I own the stocks I own, and so I can check back and see if their stories have changed. I post in case it helps others too.

Real Goods Solar
RGSE (was RSOL, market cap is 0.009B mid2016)
Real Goods Solar provides goods and services to the residential, commercial, and municipal solar energy markets. Seems like an obvious opportunity.

Sadly, RGSE has managed, possibly through mismanagement, to not turn a profit in one of the most storied energy trends of the last decade.

Real Goods is also proof that LTBH has its downsides, insufficient research can be costly, and that good ideas in good markets isn't enough.

I admit to giving up hope and would sell if there were tax advantages, but it is in my IRA where the losses don't count and the remaining value won't purchase much of anything else.

DISCLOSURE LTBH since the mid-2008 IPO. Glad I sold some for diversification.
(I've also collected links to the other discussion boards and my other stocks over on my blog
