My Father and I took a walk yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon after a long illness my father passed away at 5 pm. I was walking in the doorway of his room as he took his last breath, the nurse said my voice was the last he heard in this life. As a gift to him I did not leave his bedside, I helped the nurse prepare him for the funeral home, I helped her give him a bath, dress him, and place him on the gurney, I also told the funeral director I would push the gurney down the long hall way to the hearse. I DID . One of the longest walks I've ever made in my life.
I stayed with him beyond the end,the last touch, last bath, last dressing, last decision to what he would wear, and last trip down the hall were made WITH ME. His body was frail, but he had me and I didn't leave.
Today we will meet with the funeral home to make final plans, one of the family will post later. It is around 5 in the morning , I will close now.
May Grace and Peace be with each of you thank you or your support that has sustained us, we will never be the same again.
Miz Wiley
