My list is more contemporary than classic.

I just finished listening to MiddleSex by Eugenides. Very well told and interesting story.

I recently read "A Round Heeled Woman" by Jane Juska. Sort of jaw dropping. She placed an ad in the New York Review of Books that read "Before my 67th birthday next March I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollop works for me". The book is about her ensuing 'dating' experiences and also about her life in general. It is a remarkably candid tale and a good read.

I'm currently reading "Edgewater Angels" by Sandro Maellet. It is about a boy growing up in the projects in San Pedro, CA. His writing style is unique and engaging - I'm really enjoying it.
