having read a number of posts on this board, i am glad to find it - having been a fool for a little while and using other boards - the social security series got me here...

my question to this board: my mother is receiving her social security checks and some other small cash flows. she is working and does not need the money now and has asked me should she put the $$ into an ira or what? i said i would do research...

help!! at 66, she works for a bank and will till she can't, i think, and would probably like some type of mututal fund. from my understanding and my research, i think a s&p 500 index fund would be good returns?

advice, opinions, other sources, resources welcomed and desired...

thanks
