Thank you for the opportunity, but I have declined, for reasons beyond your understanding.

First of all, I am never condescending, even to stupid people like you. Second of all, there is no second of all, I just don't want to go through the angst of losing a third time. You don't know about the "Three Strikes" law? Three losses and you have to put a TMF in front of your name!

However I am happy to make a nomination of my own. It is for Loren Cobb, who has demonstrated a few of the attributes that all good Feste nomination-persons should have.

First, he can articulate an artful argument, artie:

On Political Asylum, he posts an encounter from a combat engineer which gives a positive view of things, even though he is opposed to the war:

and follows up respectfully:

On the Atheists board he opines that Ronald Reagan had "the right stuff", even if that was mostly "luck":

He explains (on the Military Fools Board) the vagaries of Polling and Statistical Sampling, using lots of big words that I don't understand, including "vagaries", probably.

And he takes on a critic and gives further links to posts he has made on other topics here:

Latin America:
US Military:
United Nations:
Christian mythology:
Liberal failings:
Hatred of America:
Modern socialism:
Income disparity:
Biblical torture:
Ronald Reagan:
Military Intelligence:
Universal Health Care:
Iraq Strategies:
The Radical Left:
Science & Christianity:

If that isn't enough, he claims he inhabits "the ozone layer", which should put him in good company at Fool headquarters, what with all the hot air and all.

He visits boards that no one in their right mind would bother with, like "Math" and "Mishedlo" and "Improve The Fool", so clearly he has enough time on his hands to handle the momentous responsibilities of campaigning and of serving, should he win.

Should he win? For all I know he's a gross slob who pees in a Pepsi bottle under the desk while he's writing, but that wouldn't be so different. I got nominated once, didn't I?

Anyway, that's my nomination for Feste Award: Loren Cobb,
spelled backwards it's: bboc nerol,
and spelled sideways it's, uh, £ø®Σñ ÇΩßß
