My question is, if you pay the fine instead of buying insurance, how do you get treatment for medical problems?

I am one of those self employed paying a high price for my family's insurance. Why can't I just drop the insurance and pay the fine instead? There has to be a catch.

Obamacare, IIRC, has a clause where you can pay the fine and everything is hunky-dory. Then when you get sick, you can buy the insurance. After treatment is covered and over, you drop it again. Its like calling a home insurance company after the grease fire is out of control and the local fire and rescue squad is in route.

Like that will never be abused. Don't see ANY unintended consequences there. Nope, move along, potato salad.
