Nah... no rotor replacement or anything. They did have to resurface them - or whatever it's called.

I didn't hear any noises at all from the brakes. I know enough to know that's REALLY bad. However, I can just tell when my brakes start to go. They're just not quite as responsive. Ah well... it seems the service guy gave me a break on the price, so I got away for about $50 less. Woohoo!

I'm trying to be MUCH more conscientous of how I'm braking (and driving on the whole) I guess I do brake hard. I tell ya, all those years of driving stick - I was the downshifting queen! Now that I'm rockin' the lux auto and such, I'm just so enraptured by the idea of not having to push in clutch-downshift-etc that I just let'er rip. Err... or something like that.

Anyhow, thanks for the advice, education and cautionary tales. They'll be well-heeded.

I guess yesterday called for a happy dance after all: first the CR good news, then the discount on the repair. Then, when I got home, sweetie showed me his paycheck - augmented from a recent pay increase and hours increase AND his $200 profit-sharing check. Gotta go count my blessings and show my sweetie my appreciation!
