One thing I have learned in my 60+ years is to listen to others; challenge opinions; then make your on decisions. So I am looking for ideas and opinions from oyhers FOOLS. About 10 years ago I stopped chasing rainbows and settled on buying solid companies paying good dividends and basically hold them forever. This has lead to the following portfolio which has pretty well remained for the last 10 years:xom, ghl, nycb, mcd, msft, pep,pg,jnj,ko,mo,wmt,ge,mrk.

All dividends have been reinvested; there have been a few splits;some values have been "questionable"; but overall I have done pretty well over this period of time. However, as a fairly new member to this FOOL'S site most of these companies do not appear to be considered highly rated. Why?

Again, my goal with this post is to get ideas and opinions from fellow FOOLS. Thanks in advance!!
