I read about this item about a year ago and tried to do some follow up.
Could not come up with anything . As you can see if this things works it
could revolutionize the energy industry. No more being held hostage by oil producing countries and their dictators. Is there any information you might be able to obtain being close to the source?
If you post on this board or the Canadian General board I will pick it up
Thanks in advance for any help. Believe me all help will be appreciated.

Bernie, green peace has the smile car,

http://www.greenpeace.org/~climate/smile/index.html

Those car makers have got huge clout & the energy sector (ESP with BUBBA as PRES) has got even bigger clout. It seems to me that the world could well be using these type of motors presently , the reason we aren't politics.

It was probably posted on April Fool's Day.
Read it. Properly.
Read it again.

It cannot be.
Anyway, if it was do you think they would have any trouble finding backers? They would be falling over each other.

Do a search on their patents, bet you don't find any.

The next step was the go public option. Form a company and float it on the Nasdaq. Agents and brokers were appointed, the movers and shakers in that industry approached. Telephone number size deals were suggested, the brokers reported that they could not understand why the Inventors wanted so little for such a thing as this, but when it came to the bottom line, they wanted to take half of the technology, paying only a token figure for it, and then to sit back and rake in the proceeds as the inventors continued to take all the risk and do all the work.
We all know that the world is a hard place, but the way the balance is weighed in favour of government, big business, and those in the know, is cruelly wrong. Especially when their focus is to increase their already firm grip over, and make excessive profits at the expense of the less fortunate.

This program gives the average man and woman a chance to participate where they certainly couldnât before the advance purchase system was introduced.

The Development Bank Of Singapore (DBS bank) was selected as a matter of course to become B.A.N.Kâs business banking partner. DBS has over forty branches and ten thousand employees in Singapore alone, and an unblemished reputation within the global financial community. Whilst B.A.N.K.Inc has a different board structure and is a completely separate and individual entity from that of the main DBS bank, it uses all the facilities made available by the DBS in order to remain the number one provider of these types of funds in the world.

JR,
I do not believe.

Firstly the patent link did not work in the form posted . I am not a member of Delphion and don't want to be.

Second. I do not believe everything I read. Because they say it doesn't violate the laws of thermodynamics does not make it so. I didn't think you would be that gullible.

Do you realise what 500% efficient means?
If the claims made were real do you realise how much this would be worth. ALL other energy forms would be virtually obsolete.

Don't try to give us the old "poor little battler against the big government/multinational bullshit". That ones a bit worn out by genuine cases. If this thing worked everyone would be beating a path to their door with a cheque book in their hand. If this thing worked they couldn't afford NOT to invest in it.

Barcoo cross-posted this to the Engineer's forum. I don't really intend to continue this fight here, but if you are interested in Engineer's opinion, start a new thread in the Engineer's Forum:
http://boards.fool.com/Messages.asp?bid=115202

Short answer - these guys should know better. They are being misleading when they say this engine is more than 500% efficient.

The measurement of engine efficency is how efficently an engine turns power input into power output. When considering engine efficiency, you have to consider ALL the power inputs, and only consider applied power as the output. For instance, your car's power inputs are the battery, the gasoline, and sometimes gravity (the car will move without gas if it is going downhill). The output is only work that moves the car forward. Even though you may appreciate the heater during the winter, heat loss from a car engine in not power output, but power lost in the conversion process.

This is a bit different than the way these guys are defining efficency. They are using some measure of electricity in vs. electricity out. This is a lot like saying your car is an amazingly efficient device because it only needs the little spark of electricity when you turn the ignition switch. When you say that, you are ignoring the larger energy source, the gasoline in the gas tank.

So, what energy source are these guys ignoring? Probably the stored energy in the magnets. As their engine runs, it will use up the energy in the magnets, which will eventually run out. You can recharge magnets, but it requires a higher input of electrical energy - magnets get hotter as you recharge them, and that heat is waste from the conversion process. At best, these guys are producing a magnetic "battery" which requires an electric starter and will eventually run out - not a bad thing in itself, if the parts can be reused or recycled better than standard batteries. At worst, they are manipulating the investing public's ignorance for financial gain.

Here's a site where some sceptics discuss the claims:

Remember, Thermodynamics isn't a choice, it's the law.

Barcoo the link works fine I retested it, you don't need to be a member.

Thank you for your input jwwhitlock.
It is always good to have the point of view of someone with some knowledge of the science behind claims that can articulate them.
The link was interesting as well.

Yep, Barcoo your right.

This stuff is all very interesting.

Anyways what kinda sound would one of those magnetic motors make anyway? nothing geez bugger that!!
