Good evening from a Newbie.

Through my previous employers, I have invested into 401K's and usually pick a performing type of stock. I am conservative and invest my 401K that way.

I am married with a young child and don't have a lot of expendable income. However, I would like to start investing and would like to know where I can invest minimally and w/minimal fees. Do I have to have $5,000 or more? Or may I invest $100 here and $100 there when I am able? Do I go through a brokerage-house? A website?

I am sure there are threads here to guide me but for what do I search?

Thank you in advance.
