Occasionally a team or two must be sacrificed on the electronic altar or otherwise inconvenienced to glue the fannies to the easy chair. Offered up this year: the San Diego Chargers. They've played, in consecutive weeks, the two teams that battled last season for the AFC championship, winning at New England and losing Monday night to Pittsburgh. That defeat started a stretch in which four of their five opponents come off bye weeks. Yes, a rested Pittsburgh. Then games at rejuvenated Oakland and at Philadelphia, where the Eagles have never lost after an open date (6-0) under Andy Reid. The Chargers get a respite from the indolent when they play at Kansas City but catch the refreshed New York Jets on the road. At New England, at Philly, at the Jets, at Washington - four East Coast trips in less than two months.
