We regret that the continued NHL labor uncertainty has left the League office with no choice but to cancel the 2005 NHL All-Star Game which was scheduled to be played in Atlanta on Feb. 13, 2005.

The league and the owners have not given up hope that an economically viable labor agreement can still be reached in time for play to begin this season. However, with so many games already missed, and with many participating business partners needing to have certainty around their plans for the event, a definitive decision regarding the status of the weekend's festivities became necessary at this time.

Although no future date can be released right now, we know that Atlanta's hockey fans will be treated to the NHL All-Star Game in the next few years.

We apologize to our fans, our partners and to the entire community for this disappointment and inconvenience. We believe that the short term pain will be worth the long-term gain from an economically viable new labor agreement that provides owners with cost certainty and Thrasher fans with the reassurance of keeping our star players and watching the best hockey in the world at prices they can afford.
