I've been manually updating my spreadsheet of 52 week New High-New Low data using this link:

http://www.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3021-tradingdiary2.html...

As I mentioned in a post of approximately one week ago, that website has not updated the "historical data" section for a few weeks. And as of now they have not updated the daily data for today (6/13). I sent an email to WSJ informing them of the historical data issue. Not sure they are interested in correcting it.

Anyone know what the issue might be?

Also, does anyone know of another free source for this data? I'm aware of this source, which seems to report very different numbers:

https://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/52-week-high-low.aspx

I'd like something that has tracked the WSJ site. I'm also aware of Barron's, which gets their data from WSJ and I believe has the same issue.

I subscribe to Pinnacle (http://pinnacledata2.com) and noticed earlier this week that there were a few weeks of repeated numbers in the NY-HIGHS, NY-LOWS, and NY-TOTIS series (looking like there were some missing data which were replaced with with the previous data and carried forward). Just now, I downloaded the most recent data and everything looks OK. Here's what the last month and a half look like:

I use Quandl, they have a free API for volume data - NYSE, NASDAQ, others - which you can just use directly into Google Sheets using importxml, or whatever Excel has these days for populating data from XML. No issues.

I too noticed that there were problems with the WSJ link lately.

I liked it because it had intraday data, it flags which are new issues less than a year old, and the end of day figures seem (?) to match Pinnacle which I use for building my models.

I found this as a possible substitute for now.
Just look down in the table for 52 week highs, then across to the exchange you want.
https://www.barchart.com/stocks/highs-lows/summary

If you then click on history, you get a table for the last week.

Thank you for the suggestions. They did finally post yesterday's data. But they have not updated their intraday data for nearly a month, they are stuck on Friday May 24.

Well, I guess my question was answered. The WSJ New Highs/Lows site has a new updated look. And unfortunately it looks like the link to the historical data is missing.

Just now, I downloaded the most recent data and everything looks OK. Here's what the last month and a half look like:

heink, that looks much different than the numbers I was downloading (daily) from the WSJ site. For instance, the WSJ page showed 70/68 for 6-13, 58/170 for 6-03, 79/131 for 05-28.

Can anyone else corroborate? (Also, I seem to have accidentally deleted my 6-10 through 6-12 figures if someone could post those....)

Whoops, NVM. I failed to realize heink first posted NYSE numbers. The NASDAQ numbers look good.

At the moment I see no change, same old page design and the historical data link seems to be there and working.
Except the page shows data from May 24 and won't let you pick any date after that for the historical data.
Not very useful.
But hey, this is actually an improvement compared to a little while ago, when the page wouldn't load at all.
Maybe they are in the process of fixing it, said the die hard optimist.

It is "updated" for me. Perhaps you are using this link, which has not changed and is stuck on May 24:

I was away for the weekend and am just now catching up...

Here are the data for the NASDAQ Composite from Pinnacle (http://pinnacledata2.com/). They look *almost* exactly the same as what johnIII posted (in #474329).

I get my date from here:

They used to have a link to historical data as well. I am mourning the loss.
