Just off the AP wire.

Associated Press April 21, 2013, 5:54 PM - A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn’t have gun permits.

Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE’-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms.

There you go, liberals. There's another crime that Dzhokhar can be charged with.

Good job passing all those gun control laws.

And making them so incredibly effective against criminals.

And here's exhibit #365,321 that criminals, thugs and terrorists don't give a crap about feel-good lefty laws. That would be why they're criminals, thugs and terrorists.

And you can bet a ton of money that more than one screaming lib is rethinking his stance on long guns.

Frankly,

For home defense in the situation encountered in Boston, I'd prefer a handgun or shotgun (depending upon the specifics).

If the terrorist comes knocking at *your* door, you can greet him with an appropriate welcome gift. If he knocks at a liberals door, then he greets them with his welcome gift.

It's why the external terrorists target the coasts, they are easy pickings for someone with a mind to do violence.

No gun permit. That can get them in a lot of trouble.

But apparently they had very little difficulty obtaining guns. Not exactly an argument against stricter gun control.

But not Washington state :). Sure, it's home to plenty of dingbat liberals who would love to repeal the 2nd Amendment, but the state's founding fathers had a wide libertarian streak in them especially when it came to guns. Not only are we a 'shall issue' state, but 1 out of every 25 residents has a concealed carry license. Admittedly that number drops to 1 in 39 in King County (where Seattle is) but its still a formidable number.

Sure is...he could have had his American born wife buy one for the 'family'...or ten....she would have passed any background check..daughter of a prominent doctor.....Cristian.....

duh!...

Stupid libs.....perps usually have a wife/girlfriend buy the gun......or an associate with no criminal record.....

Heck, even the FBI was 'watching' this guy and he had 100 lbs of explosives, timers for the bombs, black powder......and they didn't suspect a thing.

Right...charge him with 'concealed carry'....if you can prove the younger one just didn't pick up the gun on the street from his brother to 'protect himself against the police'....hee hee...

Yet more gun laws?...you have 10,000 of them and yet you want to pass more of them you don't enforce? or charge someone with the crime of 'gun possession' after they've used it?

Real smart libs, as always...

Shame on them!

What self-respecting terrorist doesn't obey our gun laws?

Finding out how they got the guns could be illustrative. If they bought them at a gun show they'd be in the very small minority of criminals who do so... and Massachusetts may be a state that requires background checks at gun shows (many in New England do, I'd be surprised if Mass. didn't in fact). But it's all conjecture until we have some idea how they got the guns, if we ever find out. The younger one was 19, so him obtaining a handgun legally was impossible (need to be 21 to obtain a handgun, you can't even shoot a handgun at an indoor range in Michigan under 21, I've seen people turned away for that very reason.)

Less than 2% to be semi-exact. ;)

Of course, an ignored point is that there is no reason most of the killers would have been stopped from getting a gun in the first place, even with background checks. Certainly there were no problems I can see for the last two bombers.

Why any mass murdered would not just make a bomb if they could not get a gun is a mystery to me as well.

That of course ignore the obvious that everyone mentions, that most killers would not mind commuting a crime to get a gun-- which of course would be far easier were there a gun registry.

and on and on
