No. We have 1poormom, and 1poorMIL (mother-in-law...she's blind but doesn't seem to have dementia yet).

In winter we keep it around 68F also. Summer it's more like 77.

Yes, you could poor water in the tank and flush, but pouring a couple of liters pretty quickly into a bowl will do the same thing. You can't trickle it. You need to use a bucket and pour it reasonably quickly (but not fast enough that it splashes/overflows).

Hopefully your handyman is competent. DIY that job takes me about 1/2 hour, but I'm not a pro. A pro could probably do it in 15 minutes.
