I nominate Reitnut for the 2002 Feste Award.I believe that Reitnut is an ideal model for the community's mission of "Learning Together". He is a professional in the REIT industry, and so one might assume he has little motivation to interact on the REIT board. And yet, he constantly shares his views, opinions, and in-depth knowledge on REITs, for the betterment and education of everyone fortunate enough to read his postings.Attempting to narrow down to only 3 posts that illustrate his "worthiness" is a nearly impossible task. Since TMF is aware of the 3 PODs of his, I'll skip those, and list these three instead:An example of sharing valuable information that few others have access to:http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=17338934A post in which Reitnut shares his unique viewpoint on the REIT world, as well as kicking off a lengthy thread that continued to discuss the worthiness of certain REITs for several weeks:http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=17917635And, perhaps the most striking example:http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=18039275This post illustrates what many people (myself included) find most difficult to do. A kind, respectful response to a (likewise respectful) response that disagreed with Reitnut's original post. This thread, in fact, best illustrates what makes TMF worth paying for, compared to the free boards out there. Intelligent, knowledgeable, respectful posts discussing an extremely on-topic subject. This plays out over & over again on the REIT board, and that is due, in no small part, to the efforts of Reitnut.Ken
I would like to second (or third, or fourth or whatever) the nomination of REITNUT, a.k.a. Ralph Block, for the Feste Award. With frankness, generosity, wit, modesty and a wealth of expertise, REITNUT has educated us all, as any one of his hundreds of superlative posts would demonstrate. You asked for three. I could suppy three hundred. But how about these:http://boards.fool/Message.asp?mid=17917635http://boards.fool/Message.asp?mid=17988705 http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=17338934REITNUT is an esteemed member of the community and a valued teacher. While few of us on the REIT Board have ever met him, he has for many become a friend and a mentor, He is eminently worthy of the Feste Award.[Note: this is a corrected version of an earlier post in which I listed one of REITNUT'S posts from 2001. These are all from 2002. Sorry. Not doing very well at this.]
Absolutely! Ralph (REITnut) exemplifies the "learning together" spirit of the Fool. It would be hard to think of someone else more deserving of this year's award!Mark.
I second the nomination, and before reading Ken's post had the same thought - it's knowledgeable posters like Reitnut that make it worth while to subscribe to TMFRegards - Bernard Super
I wholeheartly join in recommending REITNUT for this award. I have followed his posts for the last year and he is always very helpful.Jim aka 8128
Reitnut has been extremely generous with his time and knowledge and has made a great contribution in support of making this board the most informative and valuable board that I have found on the web.

I could'nt agree more. Reitnut's advice and counsel on making wise investment decisions in various REIT sectors is invaluable.
I nominate Reitnut for the 2002 Feste Award for the same reasons as outlined by msg 898.
I certainly agree with Ken and the other posters here that one of the most generous posters at this fine forum is Ralph (Reitnut) Block. He is the author of the definitive book on REITs, "Investing in REITs", a highly respected portfolio manager, and a contributer to many periodicals on the subject of REITs. He freely contributes his valuable time and advice to this TMF forum and is deserving of the special recognition that your award would bestow upon him.
