I don't usually side with ICF, but in this case he has a valid point. Just because you have a CCW and are armed does not mean you are obligated to enter a fray.

I don't know the circumstances that caused the deceased CCW to get involved, maybe self defense, maybe an attempt to stop the shooters from killing anyone else, maybe outrage at the killing of the officers.

I also don't know if he had a tactical advantage or what his training level was. Did he engage with a low survival probability?

What I do know is that he is now dead.

For those who loudly proclaim what they would have done...be advised that it is hard to predict how someone will react in a crisis situation. Some will fight, some will take flight, some will do nothing.

Summary: Get good training, know the law, and pray that you do the right thing.
