tl;dr - couple retires to coastal town in Spain (population ~40K) and lives somewhat frugally but not penuriously on $2K/month. They rent a 2BR condo, get excellent health care, have internet service, and gym memberships, but chose not to own a car.

-synchronicity, if daughter wanted to learn Spanish...

(also, I'm aware that there are English language schools in Athens, and might learn a bit more about that, just because)
