iOS 13 is here. We've dug through Apple's latest OS for your iPhone, trying out all of the stuff Apple announced, including dark mode (huzzah!), the gesture keyboard and improvements made to Safari. Those features are great and all, but we've also found a handful of features Apple didn't announce that are just as good, if not better.

The new volume indicator alone is -- chef's kiss -- a feature iOS has needed for years. And iMessage search, well, it's downright amazing. Don't forget about the new photo-sharing options.

Below are 11 of the best, hidden features we found in iOS 13. If you haven't installed iOS 13 yet, make sure you get your phone ready for the update before taking the plunge. Should something go wrong while it installs, you'll be glad you took the time.

Who thinks the features he would have liked most, like a user spellcheck dictionary and the ability to locate an app on the page it's located, have still not been implemented...

The Verge likes iOS 13 but suggests waiting a few days for iOS 13.1:

But the most important thing to know before we dive in is that, at least right now, iOS 13 doesn’t live up to Apple’s usual standard of quality. It likely won’t hurt to install it right away, but it’s probably worth waiting for the iOS 13.1 update, which is due to be released on September 24th.

we’ve run into a lot of significant bugs: apps randomly crash when opening them, cellular signals drop, the Camera app can be slow, pictures have randomly gotten new dates assigned to them, AirDrop has had issues, the text field flips out sometimes in iMessages, and more. You probably won’t run into all of these problems, but, odds are, you’ll run into some of them.

Apple has practically admitted that the 13.0 version of iOS isn’t finished. The company has already announced that iOS 13.1 is coming just days after the release of iOS 13
