Not sure how to follow it otherwise. I have thought of keeping a basic spreadsheet just with EPS numbers and projections but I'm not sure if that is feasible for a large number of ideas.

Why not? Do a sheet for each industry you follow, have it download the close/[open] price each day, notice when the stock has gone from 20x to 15x...?

Doesn't seem unfeasible to me.
