Note the OT. there is a lot of discussion and posting about Greenland for example, and the CONSUS is some 4x larger than that island. In addition, the continental US is where we live. Experiential temperature affects the perception of climate change, which makes it an important political factor.

Yeah, Greenland has some special significance because of it's ice sheet (with its relation to current/future sea rise) and location within the Arctic where we are seeing the long predicted Arctic amplification of global warming related to the albedo flip feedback (change in reflectiveness of the Earth's surface from highly reflective ice to highly absorptive liquid ocean or land).

And yep, nothing wrong in the least with discussing seasonal temperature trends in the US, and I agree on the importance of 'experiential temperature'. As the 30 year chart of the full year temperature trend shows, those of use who have been around a while can generally vouch for having experienced the warming climate personally, at 1.5 deg F warming over 30 years in the continental US.

It's true that winters haven't warmed much at all in the last 30 years (on average for the CONUS), but again for those of us who've been around longer and can remember the 1970s, there has been noticeable 'experiential' warming of winters: ~ 3 deg F warming over the 50 years since 1970 per the trend of +.6 deg F shown at the link:
