OK, I'll say it since nobody else will. Run. Run far, far away from this "advisor". He is trying very hard to feather his nest at your expense while giving you very little in return. EIAs are messy, complex, high fee vehicles that have been surrounded by questionable (and sometimes illegal) sales practices pretty much from their start.

If you really want an advisor, find someone who is fee-only, not tied to any company that offers its house brand of financial instruments, and comes with good references.
