Ok, off into the weeds 🙂
10-12 years ago, I picked up a large, clear glass, Pyrex mixing bowl at Goodwill. It had scuffs and scratches, having obviously been used for years, making cakes, cookies, and gastronomic delights for the family. I mean, it's got LOVE scratched into it! Google suggests it is the "old" type.

I used a Martha Stewart glass etching kit to chemically etch a design around the bowl. I now have a one of a kind, "art" bowl.

Google also suggests that etching changes the thermal shock characteristics... So, I plan to never put it in a "shocking" environment.
