My name is Dan and yesterday I checked out the "Best Of" list to see that a majority of the posts had come from a particular thread regarding Chelsea Clinton. I read the thread and thought I'd add a little bit of humor to loosen things up a bit since things seemed to me to have gotten a bit out of hand.

My post:
I heard that if I post to this thread, I'll automatically get on the "Best
Of" list...

Apparently, the little bit of humor was well received as the post ended up sitting at the top of the Best Of list for the entire rest of the day and had as many as 97 recs up until this morning. In addition, the debate pretty much ended and the board moved on to other topics such as Adam Smith. I just got an e-mail informing me that my post was yanked:

Hi there ntoriusdan,

We noticed the message that you posted with the subject
of "Re: Chelsea Clinton See Behaving Poorly" in the Political Asylum board
on 6/19/01 10:41 AM.

Your message copied below was removed because of its disruptive nature.

Disruptive Nature?! Gimme a break- 97 people obviously didn't think it was "solely designed to disrupt the conversation or annoy its participants." But then there's always that one guy - the guy who didn't think of it himself. He says "Hey! That's not fair! He's getting recs for no good reason!"

That guy then clicks on the "Report this post" link and the post is gone, just like that. WoW- That one sore loser has to ruin it for everyone else.

It's a damn shame that an overwhelming majority had absolutely nothing wrong with the thought of adding some humor to cool off a tense debate. It's a damn shame that a post which contained no vulgarity, did not attack another poster, and actually was the most well received post of the day got yanked.

It's really a damn shame.
