Okay, sorry to extend this ignorance, but now that I am looking at things, do I file the 709 separate from my 1040?????? I thought it all went together, but it looks like it can be filed separately.

Separate would be great since that means I can efile my regular taxes and snail mail this. That seems to be what Taxcut suggests. It doesn't support the form. Although, it looks like my filing an extension covered the filing extension for the 709.

Sigh...........those of you who enjoy working the tax forms, you amaze me. I am humbled in your presence.
