One hint on baseboard heating, do your best to keep the area around the baseboards clear. I have gas baseboard heating, but it's the same thing, if your furniture is pushed up against the walls then a lot of the heat is lost. I live in a small apartment so it's frustrating to lose space because you have to leave the walls clear, but I rearranged so I had more space around the baseboard heating and my bill went down.

I don't know if it will work with your setup with thermostats in each room, but I find my programmable thermostat to be invaluable. Turning down the heat room by room is not going to be as effective, unless you seal off the rooms by shutting doors. It's much easier to have it automated, my heating bill went down quite a bit.
