A question being pondered in the oil patch is if you have cash do you buy cheap assets or buy your own cheap stock?

A leading answer is if you have any material debt the majority of cash allocation should go to buying cheap physical assets as it (assuming there are positive cash flows) increases debt service capability while buying their own stock does not.

I wonder if this will apply to hotels?
