If I recall, a few of you were hoping to open a bar come retirement day.

Well, after a few months into the research/planning mode for my wine bar, let me tell ya -- it can be a major headache! I'm still working on the biz plan, but since I don't know the first thing about the bar business, the learning curve has been a bit steep and the prices for start-up are much higher than I had anticipated (since liquor licenses are pretty scarce around here). Looks like I'll have to learn how to schmooze and mooch!

Of course, I've wanted to throw in the towel more times than I can count, but for some reason my masochistic streak wins out and I go back to the drawing board.

Here's to learning and to dreams. Like roller coasters, being scared and having fun seem to go hand in hand when it comes to dream chasing.
