Or since you have two primary machines and each have a bunch of secondary machines...

You could go free and set up a Linux box with two network cards (I could even manual switch to dialup....for prolonged cable Internet outages). This is what I used to do with my home network, until I went wireless...there was a rebate offer for router with wireless that made it much cheaper than buying just a wireless access point....though I've thought about going back to the Linux router....except it didn't come back when I tried to go back....it ran for years (only went down once when the AC went out for more than 60 minutes), and only got very noisy...when I turned it back on after being off for a few months it ran quite quietly....but then it started smoking.

I had to pickup another router....and then another....
