I agree with the previous post that chasing yield will usually end up in some kind of disaster...there's a reason they are 'high yield'.

Having said that, NLY is a mortgage REIT I've held for many years. Due to the way it is structured and the kind of mortgage pools it deals in have made it a bit unique in this otherwise volatile and opague REIT category. But even so, I have this income source in my 'high-risk' category, that I keep at less than 5% of total investment income.
