I dont think it's a fair comparison if you exclude MSFT. They compete excessively in the server OS domain in the unix vs NT vs Linux wars, as well as in the browser and java arenas. Just look at Scott McNealy's obsession with bill gates, if nothing else.

That would lower SUN's score somewhat significantly. Additionaly competitors might include either Linux OS vendors in the unix space and if you are thinking chips then you might as well include Intel who designs the chips that compete with Sun's to go into servers in which regard leading PC server seller CPQ might not be a bad choice either.

Certainly you are free to choose whichever competitors you want, but, the analysis is of course significantly influenced by the choices made.
