Gosh I really dont understand TMF.

When they kindly offered me a comp. year, plus a charter membership
2yrs for 29.95 US I said great, thanks, where do I send the money..

First problem, I dont have a credit card..big problem here---
despite their avowed horror of credit cards, thats all they accept,

How about an International Money order I asked, thats as good as cash..
Nope.
Cheque?.. no good.

Only credit cards and debit cards -- nothing else!
well, I have a debit card if that's what we use in the ATM. I wouldn't
think it would be much use for this though.

So I'm tired of sending e/mails to them and coming up with brick walls.
Obviously they are not interested in the money..

and I'm pretty cheesed off!

But I'll be around for a year anyhow.

Cheers. FC.

A debit card is great..if it has the word Visa or Mastercard on it...in fact it is not a bad way of purchasing over the internet 'cause if someone pinches the card no, they can only spend whats cdedited to the account...I do this all the time with internet purchases...just put a bit of money in when I am due to buy...Cheers FC AB

Hi AB, how are you doing..
Are you happy with the Normandy deal?.

Nah, my card isn't linked to a masterard thing...

I just find it really curious that they wont accept an international
money order,

very inflexible attitude. It's as good as cash and cheaper than bankcard. Perhaps they dont know what it is..

Anyhow I'm sick of sending emails, if they dont want the money that's
up to them. I'm very dissillusioned with TMF, that's all.

Take care. FC.

It's problem to buy overseas if you haven't got one. I have two cards - one has a limit of $500 on it which is the one I use for overseas purchases. I put this small limit on it so that if my card number gets pinched the $500 is all I'm up for in the worst case.

Hi Harmy, thanks for the reply.

No, I dont see why I should lumber myself with a credit card that I
dont want just to pay that small amount..( I deliberately dont look
at overseas sites selling books, for instance in case I'm tempted--
mighty expensive with our pathetic exhange rate)
Not that I can't afford a credit card, just a matter of principle
actually.
Especially when TMF continually go on about "dont have a credit card."
That gets me really steamed--

Not to worry, they were good enough to give me a free year--
after that, goodbye and thanks for all the fish ,

(hope all your moving is going OK)

Cheers,

Hi Cass
I feel the same way - I didn't take advantage of the two year extended offer as I prefer to wait and see what happens. Who knows whether TMF will still be around then or that they may re-ofer the two year period.
I enjoy the boards but committing to three years ahead is a bit much for me.
Moving is going ok - my daughter and her family are now living in Coomera Waters and settling in (lost all their passports and personal papers - yuk !!) Our house here in NZ appears to have sold subject to the usual conditions - it may well fall over yet but at this stage things are going well.

I mentioned Vision Systems a while ago - sound company with innovative products - they've just announced a solid profit with more to come - price has been falling for no reason lately - fell to around $1.50 but with this news it has bounced to $1.76. It may well fall back a little but this is a company to watch - I will certainly be buying back in again.
Looks like we may be the only two originals still around on the board - we'll try to keep it going - what do you say ??
Regards
Harmy

Hello Harmy..

Gosh, I bet you will all be pleased when you get through all this
relocating ,lots of stress and tearing out of hair for a while and then you can relax! Coomera is a nice part of the coast, I hope your
daughter and her family will enjoy it there. Be nice too when your
family can be together again! (Best of luck with your house sale by the way, )

We do have a small board now that's for sure, regulars mainly like Barcoo, Jono, and a few that drop in sometimes... still, if everyone makes the effort we'll do ok. I'm wondering if after Feb the boards will be available to read only ,or if people will have to join before
they can read, but we will see what happens..

Thanks for the info on Vision Systems, I will have a look at it.
I'm looking for longer term investments atm and it's quite difficult to find good company management, and earnings are very spotty everyhere this year it seems to me.

Hey and hang in there with the moving Harmy, all be done soon!

Cheers.
FC.

Fc you make me laugh.(not in a condesending way)

You'd rather go to the PO pay for a money order, pay for a envelope & stamp, than use a visa.

I'd think that the problems from TMF end are many, first an employee(not many left) has to bank the money order, next they have to wait prob a week or longer for the MO to clear etc

But I respect you so I won't pick onya to much.

JR

Hi Jono,
ahh, thank you..

anyhow it's their fault for being snotty about how they want to be paid!

Just because I'm bad tempered and totally unreasonable is no excuse
for them to be the same------is it!

Cheers.
