PBS defines affluenza differently than the Fool article. The Fool article seems to be define affluenza as the creation of lazy adults who depend on an inheritance rather than work for a living. PBS seems to define it as the quest to keep up with the Joneses and obtain more and more "stuff".

Anyway, while I'm sure there are rich kids out there who never had to work, what percentage of the population do you think is in that situation? I'd say probably 1% or less. Most people have to work whether they like it or not.

If I remember correctly from reading RuleBreakers/RuleMakers, the founders of this website, David and Tom G. inherited money from relatives when they were still in their teens. If they invested their inherited money rather than having spent all of it, and they both work full-time for a living then I guess it didn't spoil them.
