Perhaps. But I think only an idiot would believe that attitudes on homosexuality are due solely to religion. Just my personal opinion of course, but I say this as a heterosexual male who played sports and belonged to a frat. In these bastions of male culture I heard many derogatory things about homosexuality coming from some very nonreligious people. -- coralville

I happen to agree with you. The aspect of this which I find most heinous is the concept of USING religion to foster prejudicial laws and "principles" against homosexuals. As you suggest, Carl the Freak is a homophobe but uses the religiousity of others to join the bandwagon - just because it suits his prejudice. He is able to camouflage himself from those looking for such racism by joining in the tidal pool of "the religious" - those who don't hate homosexuals but are sincerely opposed on religious grounds.

The really bad part is those "moderate" theists allow the freaks to swim with their pack for the same reason the freak swims with them - to promote their agenda.

If it weren't for their common prejudice and racism against a certain segment of society, do you think they would be having dinner together?
