Personally, I get maybe three or four requests to fax things to my business per year. I simply tell people that I don't have a fax and that they'll have to mail it to me. Never a problem with my business anyway.

I think this can work for some people, but it really depends on the type of business and how time-sensitive the information is. For my DH, the faxes he gets, though few, are time-sensitive, so he does need a fax machine. But not all businesses are like this. If the OP is going to be doing something for which he can wait a few days for the mail, going this route may be a good solution. However, the OP will need to understand how time sensitive his own needs are, and decide from there.

Sometimes, though, I think we don't tend to think about all the alternatives because of the available technology, and have a good understanding of what we really need.
