I went and tried to pull data from the John Hopkins Github. It was a mess.

Reading about the deaths has made me realize there is way too much administrative lag. You can see it in the data anomalies over Thanksgiving, but I noticed it back in April.

So, I have wondered if the rate of hospitalizations might be a better indicator. There is little debate about why one has shown up, and it monitors the state of the hospitals which is a leading indicator for mortality rates.

If we could get a clear set of hospital admissions for the last 8 weeks, on a state by state level, that would be helpful.
