Friend talked me into downloading the BetMGM app. Legal online poker in Michigan.SitnGos softer than what I remember from the online rooms a decade ago, although my first foray in pretty small stakes. Played three STT, cashed the first two, got outdrawn in consecutive hands to miss cash on the thirdStumbled across this thread trying to find this place. Classic example of why this was TMF's best board:https://boards.fool.com/i-am-such-a-donkey-26578283.aspx?sor...
Must be nice to have legal online poker in your state!Your post sent me down the rabbit hole of reading old posts. This truly was a great board for a long time.
Your post sent me down the rabbit hole of reading old posts. Me too. I guess I'm not the only one that still has this board on their favs...Albaby
Yea--wish there was online poker in Washington, but there isn't. If you don't mind a bit of messing around with crypto, you can make it happen, but I haven't bothered. Can't decide if I'm excited to go back to the card rooms and tribal casinos or not. I don't find them to be particularly enjoyable places to play. I've got a cousin who got into poker during covid and is psyched to play so I'll likely end up going with her a bit. Cheers--James
The app runs on the Party Poker engine. I have to believe it's audited but it is hard to overcome the huge number of suckouts. Maybe I'm just unlucky but I've had more success the rare times I've gotten it in with a dominated hand than winning with the better handTon of promos. Maybe because I'm new. Every day they either give me $5 tourney cashback or entry into a satellite. Bubbled out of a $45 satellite into a weekly $535 yesterday. Just qualified for another which is starting nowWish they would just give me the $45
I went back through some of the posts here a while back bored out of my mind on a work call. Two things were clear to me:A) This was a really great board in its heyday B) wow - some of my play in the early days was cringe worthy (even more so than now if you can believe that)All 9 of the other guys in the home game I host are fully vaccinated so we played last Friday. In addition to providing dinner, snacks, and free drinks, I managed to lose $415 on the night after a pretty good early run ended abruptly on 2 hands in the same orbit. I'd like to say I got sucked out on, but I didn't. I just charged willingly into a buzz saw - twice. Still - it was a lot of fun, even if I was so excited to be playing that I did it with all the discipline of a hyperactive 5 year old hopped up on Lucky Charms. The CT casinos have re-opened their rooms for live play but the restrictions make it unappealing and it's probably still a cesspool, so it isn't worth the drive. The state is getting ready to legalize online poker and also online sports betting - so that'll be a good option I hope soon enough.Steve
Good ol' 'Patch Classic' mode, I love it.I dl'd PStars but can't seem to sit for some reason after also signing up for legal PA sportsbetting, something with the 2 user names have to call CS and I just haven't done it. I keep thinking about it though, been busy with the Chess Candidates but that just ended.Would love to take money from all you fish again. IIRC, I am still the Tournament Champion of On Tilt.
Thanks for the HU about MGM, just saw this from yesterday:https://www.playpennsylvania.com/betmgm-borgata-poker-launch...So we'll have 3 sites instead of 1. And given the fishy sportsbettors on MGM in this state, probably start there. MGMs lines are so unreal weak it's like psu trying to win at Omaha. This board was really the nuts back then.
Must be nice to have legal online poker in your state!I don't know if this got any national coverage, but in Florida the governor and the Seminole Tribe just cut a revised Tribe-State compact to govern gambling, part of which will open up the Tribe's ability to offer nearly all casino games (including craps and roulette) at their facilities. Included in that agreement is the possibility that the Tribe will offer online versions of its games and sports book. The Legislature will be going into special session in May to (probably) approve the compact and hash out the particulars on the open issues.Which opens the door a crack to possibly having them offer online poker, perhaps even statewide. Don't know if they'll bother to fight for it, though. I'm sure the more hardened casino reprobates have a better sense of this than I do, but I always thought that the poker room was a bit more of an amenity than a really big revenue generator for the house. So while I can see them insisting on getting the sports book and some of their other games online/on-mobile, I don't know if poker will be much of a priority.Albaby
