Plc. (London:BP.L - News) said it had no plans to declare force majeure because it thought it could replace any production lost due to its shut down of shipments from Alaska's Prudhoe Bay

Because you can't declare force majeure when it's your fault as operator, more like.... BP have been busy buying a lot of oil to replace their share of missing production, apparently.
