Please explain outperform, why this would cause a stock to be downgraded. Hey Lee,Brokerage Firm ranking systems are usually based on the following (from worst rating to best rating):Sell (rarely issued)Underperform (rarely issues)Hold (usually really means sell)Outperform/BuyStrong BuyIf a stock was rated strong buy (or its equivalent) and the analyst changed her rating to outperform, this would be considered a downgrade.Fool on,Warren
