Nothing against Frost, but when it comes to real poetry nobody beats Bukowski.
Here is one of my favorite poems of all times:
History of a Tough Motherf*cker - http://www.che.utexas.edu/~schleize/Bukowski/history.cb
And here are a few of his poems:

I liked "poetry"
it
takes
a lot of
desperation
dissatisfaction
and
disillusion
to
write
a
few
good
poems.
it's not
for
everybody
either to
write
it
or even to
read
it.

Hi waxurt,
when it comes to real poetry nobody beats
Bukowski.
Clearly a case of chacun a son gout - my idea of a great poet is Lord Byron ;-). I appreciated the second link though, that's great. Back in the late '60s Bukowski had a column in a little alternative newspaper in Los Angeles called Open City and I subscribed just to get his stuff. I've since read just about all of his published work and my favorite was his book, Post Office...Dave.

I have added him to my very backed up reading list.
While I admire him first as a poet, he also writes great prose. My favorite is "Factotum", but I haven't read all his stuff. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to find Bukowski in your normal book store.
