What sort of accommodations, I mean.

Postulate an older single person living alone. Money is not the primary consideration. Safety, social, convenience all matter. Specifically, I am thinking of my wife. She is some years younger than I am and our expectation is that she may outlive me a number of years.

Her attitude is "I will leave my house when they carry me out feet first." I want her to have the security and social interaction of some sort of larger community.

Also, please discuss.
Single family home.
Retirement housing (55 or older)
Cardboard box under a bridge.
Other - please comment
