The message you're trying to access has been removed from the boards. The most likely reason for this is that the message violated our Fool's Rules about appropriate content. Either that or it was swallowed up by intergalactic space beasts from the planet Xeenu.

Posted on the wrong board, perhaps? Maybe it would have been better over here.

Some people really need to lighten up and accept that people are different. People who get offended are looking for something to be offended by.

There are posting guidelines. If your post violates those guidelines in the view of the Fool, they pull it. The Fool also chooses to have a means (fool alert) for people to notify them of posts that may be outside those guidelines.

The fact somebody may be different does not give them the right to mold the site to fit their tastes. The Fool has every right to dictate what content is on their site. "The offended" have every right to expect the site to reflect the guidelines publicly outlined.

I think the people that need to lighten up the most are the ones that post unacceptable material (as outlined in the guidelines), often knowing it is not acceptable, and they whine about it getting pulled.

I don't FA posts. So I am not in the "offended" crowd. But, I whole heartedly support the Fool's right to have the site they want to have. Every post I have had pulled deserved to be pulled.... and if ever one didn't deserve it in my view, the Fool in owning this site still has the right to whatever subjective judgements they want to make regarding their property, this site.

LMAO - Indeed. You could probably get 50 concurring opinions off of PA on that assessment.

Julie,

Question for you...since you've had some posts of yours removed lately...you have an idea who the culprit<s) were?
Reason I'm asking is that I had one pulled today...the first time ever...and I have gotten a lot of bitching about my posts as well.

Q2: Does someone have to flag a post to Admin to get it posted?

Q2: Does someone have to flag a post to Admin to get it posted?

No, I don't think so. They run word scans every now and then and remove certain posts.

I've had a few of my posts removed. I don't know who did it, and I don't care. I knew when I posted it would be somewhat questionable, and even noted in the subject "Adult" and then warned again on the first line. It was pulled withing 15 minutes.

Welcome to life.

If this is the Sex and Relationships" board, it does seem a bit odd not to be able to talk about... sex.. in other than euphemisms.

I guess the owners must be Bushies or at least Republicans.

All,

It was a poll asking about your favorite names of a woman's most private part. A few of the names were provided. Julie tied it to politcal issues, I believe one of the women's rights groups was trying to claim a certain word rhyming with hunt. It was a good poll. Too bad.

This is a sex and relationship board, but it is located on a financial site. If the site itself were about sex, then I would understand folks being upset about not being able to post explicit information. But a financial site has every right to say that they don't want sexually explicit information posted.

BWAH HA HA ha ha ha....I am so not prude. But then I don't take a topic about someone's husband's illness and turn it into a stand up suicide routine. That is just bad taste.

Anyway, do you notice you are using war tactics by dehumanizing the posters here? You call everyone 'prude'...instead of 'humans with actual emotions attached just like you'....it's easier to get into a shouting match with someone you have labled vs. on you have to empathise with.

But it then again, I also read your post to say you were getting complaints on that other board, just like the other poster does....so why are you bringing this back here?

Yes, it was on the USA. Julie has prefered to host her polls on out of the way boards so as to aviod too much undo attraction. Of course she then adverts them on other little traveled boards like PA, but I'm fond of USA and very glad she is there. I don't think there's any confusion as the second post in this thread was the first to encounter the pulled post message of love.

I don't know, a discussion on specific sexual acts with a prostitute and how much that will set you back would be "on topic" and very relevant to the financial success of sex addicts.

LOL. Did anyone see the news show a few years back about the internet turning the oldest profession into amature hour? It was out of Los Angeles, I think, and the gist was that competition from women setting up shop on the internet was driving down prices and that the vice squad lacked the resources to even attempt to police it.

Then there's the recent Forbes article (Valentine's Day this year)

Wife or whore?

The choice is that simple. At least according to economists Lena Edlund and Evelyn Korn, it is.

The two well-respected economists created a minor stir in academic circles a few years back when they published "A Theory of Prostitution" in the Journal of Political Economy. The paper was remarkable not only for being accepted by a major journal but also because it considered wives and whores as economic "goods" that can be substituted for each other. Men buy, women sell.

Economists have been equating money and marriage ever since Nobel Prize-winning economist Gary Becker published his seminal paper "A Theory of Marriage" in two parts in 1973 and 1974--also, not coincidentally, in the Journal of Political Economy.

But I can not imagine a lot of interest on this board for these topics when we have Breezy's love life to discuss.

On this note...how many guys were told as they were growing up that all the porn stars are victims. The bad men are making them do porn and all those pictures were taken of girls that were forced to do it.

That was my mom's story.

But even at the tender age of 12, looking at my friend's dad's smut books....those girls didn't look like they were being forced. Looked alot like fun even.

Then now we have Discovery shows on the Bunny Ranch...and some of those ladies have left careers to work there. No one is chained to a couch....well unless you pay for it.

And this internet porn explosion just tells me that there are MANY MANY MANY females that want to show off. I mean...there are thousands, if not hudreds of thousands of them on the internet all the time. They aren't all being forced...and many of them are enjoying making the money.

Oh well....just wish this country would get over it's sexual hangups and delusions.

I think it's the ol' biological imperiative in force for this one.

Guys (as a general rule) don't like to share and want to know that the kid they are supporting belongs to them. A woman with a history of prostitution is going to have a hard time finding a guy to marry. Period.

So she can't do it. Frankly, I really don't think there's too much wrong with the higher class hookers. Heck, the Mayflower Madam had health benefits. What could be better than that?

But because she had so many partners, and for *money*, she can't be trusted. This crosses over from the bedroom to her public life.God forbid one of those high class hookers should want to go into politics or work around children. Anyone who found out about her past would see her life as begining and ending between the waist and the knees.

Funny how people don't look at gigilos that way. Most people say "It's a nice job, if you can get it."

I think it's because men are ALWAYS seen as the conquror. Boss diddles the secretary, he's got power. Male secretary diddles his female boss, he got one up. 14 year old student does his teacher, good job dude. I have heard of the most inappropriate relationships, and in each case, the one who has the exterior plumbing was perceived as getting power from it.

I'm finding it hard to understand why anyone cares. Most of the terms are either offensive or so damn cutesy that I wouldn't be caught dead using them in the first place.

For public use, you can refer to your vag1nia or privates. For private use, use any bloody thing you want, just don't make me read it.

I believe, and Julie can correct me if I'm wrong, that one of the points of the exercise was to illustrate the ridiculousness of it while at the same time empower women to reclaim the naming rights of their body. empower women to reclaim the naming rights of their body.

How about body fluid? Let's see, we have:

Flem
Lugy
Snot
Mucus
Mucin
Green goo
Wet one
Boogie

Wow, sure do feel empowered. Should we do toe jam next?

it's completley juvenile

I agree. I realize that the words that we use shape our reality, but I also find it rediculous that searching for words like these is somehow going to empower me.

I wasn't buring bras in the 70s. I didn't need to. I'm not worried about trying to get into a field that I enjoy and am qualified in because I don't have to be. I am already empowered. My mother's generation and all the one's before that fought for things like voting rights, have empowered me. I am sitting in the catbird seat. There's no other way to say it.

I am also of mixed race. I will not own the "N" word by using it in a public forum. It's bad manners and crass. The same holds true for certain other words in the english language.

Insisting that use of these words will somehow empower me to name my body parts, well, why? They're my body parts. They have perfectly good names in the medical community. I use a few euphemisms so as not to offend, and I'm happy. Just what does not claiming those rights mean? My body is my own. I decide what happens to it and I'm a relatively well adjusted individual.

I don't get it.

Julie,

I think the exasperation that many express is that you post these things and then get upset that they get pulled. While those of us who are being alerted to your polls don't tend to like them anyway. And it isn't because they are sexual in nature, but because we really don't see the point of the poll.

If you want to put these polls on the USA board, then go for it. You seem to have some buddies there that don't mind. But you still put links up here and those that are interested are already going to the USA board and the rest of us aren't really interested.
