I sent in my January 2002 payment early enough for my lender to receive it in 2001. The lender included this interest in my 1098 for 2001. Is this pre-paid interest tax deductible in 2001? Also, the 1098 does not show real estate taxes paid in 2001. Should the lender provide this info, or do I need to calculate it?
