What a coincidence. And I thought that I was the only one who got "Pricelined". I went on priceline to bid on airline tickets from Orlando, FL to Jamaica.
Most of the major airlines were quoting around $400 from Orlando to Montego Bay. I thought this to be exhorbitant, so I turned to Priceline.

I originally bid $175 per ticket and got rejected. I upped my bid to $200 and was ecstatic to get my confirmation email...until I read the details. The taxes and fees that were tacked on were ridiculous.

Long story, short: I ended saving about $50/ticket (Is the inconvenience of the long stopovers worth it? I guess I'll find out in April). Yes, that's right, the taxes and fees were nearly $150/ticket. I, too, called Priceline for an explanation. I was told that these fees were the norm and sometimes could be even higher!

Dear Priceline, when the consumer tells you he wants to pay $200, he want to pay $200!! Sincerely, Joe Consumer.
