If you do hip surgery, you'll get a bunch of bills

One from the hospital for a whole raft of things from operating room, to recovery room, to physical therapy, to bandages, saline solution, vitamin pills, medicine prescribed, medicine you are already taking, etc. Pages and pages.

You'll get a separate one from the anesthesiologist.

You'll get a separate one from the surgeon.

At least 3.

Make sure ALL are within your insurance plan coverage - hospital, doc, etc.

- ----

Same with medicare - make sure everyone knows it will be medicare and supplement. And agree to 'assignment'.

- - --

After, you'll have bills for physical therapy, and if you go to a rehab place for a month, for that, for attending doc, for therapists, for medicine, etc.

If you have 'co-pay' under your insurance plan, get a calc before hand as to what it will be.

Of course, you're going to have a Medicare Supplement policy, right?
